This course builds on the PWR Training which is a prerequisite. It explores advanced concepts regarding the plant systems and operating principles of the Westinghouse PWR plant. The goal of this class is to prepare students who will have technical and leadership roles requiring an in-depth understanding of plant operations and maintenance. This course bridges the wide gap between the PWR Fundamentals course and the challenging Senior Reactor Operator Management Certification. The duration of the course is 10 weeks. Expectations include 2 hours of instructor time each week to discuss challenging concepts, completion of 10-12 hours each week of assignments and varied platforms for self-study.
