Training Options

Westinghouse Asynchronous Online Learning Format

  • This training option is ideal for customer personnel that are working at home or at different physical locations.
  • Westinghouse has an online learning format that can be accessed by students on a remote basis via Blackboard, and the course would be facilitated by a Westinghouse qualified training instructor.
  • Students would review on-line course documents and presentation materials, perform learning exercises, participate in discussion boards, and complete quizzes.
  • Initial and refresher students can be combined in this type of training delivery.
  • Typically, 1-2 learning modules would be completed each week on a part-time bases over a period of 5 to 11 weeks. The delivery timeframe can be modified to accommodate site scheduling needs.
  • Vintage I&C Systems learning models are available for Rod Control (10 weeks), Digital Rod Position Indication (5 weeks), Solid State Protection System (10 weeks), Nuclear Instrumentation System (5 weeks), 7300 Process Instrumentation System (10 weeks), and Nuclear Process Control Fundamentals (11 weeks).
  • Other training topics are available in the operations and engineering disciplines, and additional courses can be converted to online deliver upon request.
  • This format can also be augmented with one or more synchronous sessions via WebEx to support student needs.

Westinghouse Synchronous Delivery Format

  • This training option is ideal for customer personnel that are working at home or at different physical locations.
  • Westinghouse can deliver the classroom portion of standard training courses to students remotely in a live-broadcasted format via a video feed and WEBEX by a Westinghouse qualified training instructor.
  • Westinghouse can deliver a modified version of the hands-on (troubleshooting) portion of a course by demonstrated by the instructor, with an option for holding a student hands-on session at a later date.

Westinghouse Specialty Training Videos

  • This training option is ideal for customer personnel that are working at the plant site performing maintenance and/or supporting troubleshooting activities, and can be used to complement just-in-time training on non-routine work tasks.
  • Westinghouse can deliver a short video on a specialized topic by a Westinghouse qualified instructor and use of our training system, with the content having the look and feel of a typical U-Tube video.
